OURVISION
We envision marginalized communities transformed* through experiencing love, belonging, and significance in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
OURMISSION
To gather, train, and move people towards transformational relationships within marginalized communities, cultivating love, belonging, and significance among all who are involved.
OURVALUES
Intentionally loving others well, rooted in Biblical truth, anchored in an identity of Christ's love, identifying and utilizing unique giftings, journeying with others in community, participating with Christ in His kingdom, pursuing depth with Jesus.
Three basic human needs are: to be loved, to belong to something, and to have significance in life. The fulfillment of these needs can take on many different forms, but we have found, and believe, that the BEST fulfillment of these needs comes through a deep relationship with Jesus. As we journey together with others, we seek to communicate this love, belonging, and significance through our words, but more importantly through the way we live out what we say we believe.
Why we gather
We believe that it takes a community to reach a community, and that the best way to do this is in deep relationship with others. We are intent on living a lifestyle of walking with others toward Jesus. Growth in our relationship with God occurs when we are in relationship with others. We aspire to be known as a community that opens up space for people to speak into our lives and also create room to speak into others' lives with the ultimate goal being a deep relationship with God.
Why we train
To encourage and challenge others to begin a discipleship journey, together with us, as we seek to be definitively recognizable and known by how we are loved and love others, how we belong, and how we live significant lives that are deeply rooted in Jesus.
Why we move
As we gather and grow together, our response then is to move and extend the same love, belonging, and significance that we have experienced, towards others. As we follow Jesus, we cannot help but notice his compassion for societies' outcasts and how he consistently moved in their direction. As we question how we live and move as Jesus did, we cannot overlook the fact that he was constantly making friends with those who were poorly loved by society.

Urban Slums
Sao Paulo's street kids are daily confronted with choices that lead to a lifestyle of their own destruction. As each day goes by, the decision to leave the street becomes more difficult than the last. We will work side by side with partner organizations as we seek to grow in deep relationships with these kids, and offer them a life away from the destructiveness of the streets.
Street Programs:
Glue Kids: Many boys and girls are addicted to huffing glue and other solvents. Through activities like sports, board games, educational games, art, personal hygiene, and basic first aid,we seek to develop relationships that create the space and opportunities for each kid to be challenged with alternatives away from the addictions of street life.
Crack Kids: Working in an area of the city named "Crack Land," we find kids who are addicted and controlled by the powerful grasps of crack cocaine. Connecting with these kids is difficult, but through specialized games and activities, we create the space to cultivate relationships one small step at a time. Offering alternatives such as rehab for chemically dependent kids, hospitalization, or shelters specifically designed for street kids is also available.
Holistic Care: Together with partner organizations, we use a drop-in center to provide showers, food, clothing, and recreation for street kids under 18 years old. This is a time to get kids out of the street environment and into a space where deeper relationships and care can be provided.
Visits: When necessary, we make visits to kids' families in order to further deepen our relationship and understanding of their story. We also make visits to kids who have been put into juvenile detention centers and into shelters for kids who have decided to leave the streets.
Transformation means...
Street kids are no longer loved by the culture of the street, but experience love found in Christ-centered communities and eventually in families.
They no longer belong to the street, as they are provided alternatives away from street life, and are affirmed that their identity and value is rooted in the image of God.
They no longer find significance in street life, but find it through being empowered to live for things greater than themselves.
Urbanization in the city of Sao Paulo has caused much overcrowding in the past 20 years. As individuals and businesses have relocated away from the city center, areas of downtown Sao Paulo have become home to many impoverished neighborhoods. Through community development programs, we seek to impact the way these communities experience love, belonging, and significance within their own communities.
We will be partnering with a few local churches in the center of Sao Paulo to work alongside and empower families in re-writing their stories and the stories of the communities they live in.

Prostitution/SexTrafficking
With the arrival of the 2014 World Cup and the 2016 summer Olympics on Brazilian soil, concerns have been raised about the projected increase in demands for prostitution, sex trafficking, and sex tourism in the country. Together with partner organizations, we will combat the unlawful trafficking and prostitution of women and children in Brazil, and seek to redefine love, belonging, and significance among those involved.
